おめでとうございますOmedetou-gozaimasu (congratulations) and ようこそ Youkoso (welcome) from the staff of the 2016 Virginia Governor’s Japanese Academy! This is our 29th Anniversary of the Academy and we are very excited to have you this year. Our Academy has a tradition of providing a rigorous yet exciting academic study of Japanese language and culture. We are also scheduling a variety of Japanese cultural activities such field trips, summer festival, sports day, cooking, arts and craft, and so forth to enrich your cultural experience. In this packet I have included a list of this year’s field trip schedule along with general daily schedule.
Please note the arrival schedule for June 26 (p.2), which includes information about check-in and the opening ceremony. Contact information and emergency numbers for the Academy will be distributed to parents at the time when you check in.
While all of this information may feel overwhelming, it is important that you and your parents carefully read the entire packet to fully understand the Academy. In addition, you can find further information online at Guide for Students and Parents/Guardians.
